About the Role
Bupa Eventhorpe Care Home is seeking a skilled Activities Coordinator to enrich the lives of our residents. As a key member of our care team, you will identify leisure activities that cater to each resident's interests, preferences, and abilities, and coordinate a programme that promotes social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage activity plans for residents across this 91-bed care home, with rest home and hospital levels of care.
- Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments as needed to ensure residents' needs are met.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all residents, adhering to Bupa Health & Safety policies.
- Participate in ongoing personal and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in diversional therapy and related fields.
Requirements
- NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate or working towards a DT qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting.
- Creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A clean, full driver's license for occasional van use.
