**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The Te Whatu Ora Improve business unit takes a whole-system, consumer and whānau-centred and equity led approach to accelerate improvement and innovation, underpinned by best evidence, data and evaluation.
The primary purpose of the Improvement and Innovation Training Manager role is to lead the implementation of improvement and innovation training and development strategy, including training material, manuals, presentations and interactive modules; oversee the delivery of improvement and innovation training programmes aligned with achieving pae ora;and growing improvement and innovation leadership capability across Te Whatu Ora.
In this role you will lead teams that oversees the design, planning and implementation of improvement and innovation training and development strategy, frameworks and leadership training programmes to grow improvement and innovation leaders across Te Whatu Ora.
A key component of the Improvement and Innovation Training Manager role will be to develop, maintain and influence effective relationships and partnerships across Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Oraand Te Tāhū Hauora. The role will also work closely with regional integration teams.
**Mōu | About you**
An excellent understanding of improvement and innovation skills, methods and tools, and the importance of Te Tiriti obligations, Te Ao Māori frameworks and mataranga Maori concepts in building improvement and innovation capability and advancing Māori aspirations and outcomes, is essential for this role. You will be experienced in leading the development and delivery of improvement and innovation training programmes, and engaging and leading professional teams across a large organisation. You will have a proven track record in establishing strong partnerships and collaboration with academic institutions and external organisations to build improvement and innovation and leadership capability.

- Knowledge of New Zealand Health legislation and sector.
- Significant experience and expertise within the role's areas of focus of improvement and innovation.
- Experience leading senior resources and SMEs, including building capability and lifting performance of a team/unit.
- Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining and influencing effective relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific people and groups.
- Experience developing and implementing effective team strategies and work plans that deliver on organisational objectives.
- An ability to work within and across matrixed and interconnected teams to deliver work and achieve group objectives and outcomes.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
