**About the Role**
In this role you will be responsible for a large territory covering the Lower North Island region, where you will partner closely with farmers to understand their goals and challenges. You'll use this knowledge to provide solutions which enable them to add value to their herds and build more productive and profitable farms.
As the role requires you to manage your on-farm visits, you'll enjoy being on the road and comfortable with some overnight travel (away approx. every 2nd week).
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver innovative solutions for multi-herd clients.
- Foster dairy sector relationships and represent LIC at industry events.
- Use data and insights for evidence-based performance improvements.
- Provide leadership of one direct report.
- Tackle unique, complex problems with creative thinking.
- Identify synergies between client goals and LIC offerings.
- Present genetic trends in the dairy industry.
**About You**
As a rural professional, you'll understand and empathise with the unique challenges our farmers face and have a good understanding of industry from a regional, national and global perspective. You'll understand the 12-month cycle on farm, be aware of the importance of herd quality and have a sound knowledge of dairy cow genetics and how this impacts profitability - and you'll be able to communicate this to farmers, while keeping abreast of their unique situation.

- Demonstrate resilience, confidence and adaptability.
- Great problem-solving skills and ability to match solutions to customers.
- Confident and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Previous leadership experience isn't necessary, but a desire and passion to lead is vital
- A background gained in relationship management, sales, or customer-facing roles
