**Te āheinga: The opportunity**
As part of our Equity and Ākonga Success Strategy, greater access to mental health and addiction support is a priority service. Te Pūkenga is partnering with Te Whatu Ora to establish new and expanded mental health services for ākonga with a particular focus on greater access for ākonga Māori, Pacific and Disabled Learners.
The Regional Clinical Coordinator - Rohe 1 is a funded position created with Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand. Rohe 1 (Region 1) covers **NorthTec**: Tai Tokerau Wānanga, **Manukau Institute of Technology** (MIT): Te Whare Takiura o Manukau and **Unitec**: Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka. You can be based at any of these three institutions and travel two days a week visiting the other two institutions.
This position will work at a regional level to assist the network to improve mental health service delivery and ākonga mental health outcomes within the region, working at both strategic and operational levels. More information on the specific requirements and expected deliverables for the Regional Clinical Coordinator can be found in the position description.
The Regional Clinical Coordinator for Rohe 1 will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Provide clinical leadership within the region, ensuring safe and effective mental health services are provided to students.
- Provide expert insights, guidance, and advice to support improved outcomes for learners.
- Support the delivery of day-to-day service planning, monitoring, assessment/evaluation and reporting, with a focus on service improvement.
- Develop regional strategy related to learner wellbeing outcomes in collaboration with service teams.
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You'll have:
- One or more degree level qualification; Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, Counsellor.
- Fully registered under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 with a scope of practice that is appropriate to working as a mental health and addiction clinician.
- Hold a current annual practicing certificate and the relevant skills and experience for working in clinical roles within mental health and addiction services appropriate to the specific population group/s being served.
- Extensive experience, normally gained through relevant professional qualifications together with significant post qualification practical experience (5-10 years).
- A full and clean Drivers Licence.
- A full and clean Police Vetting.
