Help lead our Retail store, ensure it is open for business and that sales are made effectively.

The Whakapapa whānau are a small but ambitious team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area. In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola. Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of manuhiri (guests) to Whakapapa, many with life-long connections to the maunga (mountain) and surrounding region, some even third or fourth generation.

- Be a part of and help lead a small but incredibly fun department.
- Key responsibilities include:

- Ensure the Retail shop is well stocked and merchandised for the start of business each day
- Maximise the potential sales of product and ensure the processing of payment is carried out accurately and professionally
- Provide leadership to the team during the daily operations ensuring a thorough and efficient service is provided to guests
- Support the training and development of staff

- A high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Previous retail experience
- Previous experience leading a team (desirable)
