**The Opportunity**:
They are looking to strengthen their leadership team and want to appoint an experienced National Sales Manager to drive the performance of the New Zealand sales team of twelve. (Account Managers & BDM’s).

This is a hands-on role, which will suit an experienced, people-centric sales leader, who understands how to coach and motivate a high-performing sales team and will cultivate a culture of high achievement, through accountability and continued success.

**The Role**:

- Leads and develops the sales team, building relationships with each team member.
- Takes overall responsibility for the sales team’s budget and sets KPI’s to achieve this
- Plans and implements sales strategies to drive company growth, across the team and with individuals.
- Works to understand each team member. Their individual style and market approach, their personal drivers and goals and helps them reach those goals.
- Identifies any skill and knowledge gaps and coaches where support is needed.
- Establishes specific sales activities, including pipeline measurement and action planning. Improves sales processes and reduces performance barriers.
- Builds trust and respect within the team. Inspires them Challenges them
- At all times is a trusted sounding board. Supporting through areas of complexity or escalation.
- Recruits, coaches, trains, and guides new sales team members.
- Helps plan strategies to identify and create lead generation and business development opportunities.
- Identifies where positive change is needed and becomes a catalyst for appropriate change.
- Assists the development of new markets and new mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Performance management, ensuring KPIs and targets are achieved.
- Monitors critical business metrics. Prepares management reporting.
- Ensures company processes are followed, including effective CRM management.
- Becomes a valued and contributing member of the senior leadership team

**About You**:

- Significant sales leadership experience, (8+ yrs), over a stable career history
- Previous experience managing large (10+) Business Development/ Account management sales teams.
- A track record in achieving strong results, where revenue growth has been achieved.
- An ‘out of the box’ thinker, has a strategic perspective, to make improvements to business processes.
- Has a growth mindset, focused on ways of growing and building business.
- A good listener. A quick learner. Invests time into understanding the business and its people.
- Adaptable. Understands that a cookie cutter approach does not suit every team.
- A strong communicator and facilitator, with high level relationship building skills.
- Ability to anticipate change in the environment and prepare for it
- Is equipped to have motivational, coaching conversations that positively drive performance.
- Experience working in industries that market non-tangible solutions. (Rather than product based)
- An interest or experience in data driven technologies.
