**Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

The Research Services Manager (RSM) will assist the wider directorship across ABI, helping to support the development of appropriate strategies and operationalising initiatives. You will have oversight of the research portfolio within the Faculty/LSRI and be the **key point** of contact regarding this body of work.

This is a varied role where you will have the opportunity to be actively engaged within Research Services Management communities and essential communities of practice. You will work in partnership with the Function Lead for Research Services to lead the effective planning and delivery of strategic research support service operations across the Faculty/LSRI, including: advising on research development opportunities, advising on research service resource allocation and ensuring all administrative and research support services are delivered seamlessly.

In addition, the RSM will also contribute to the sourcing of potential funders and guide internal investment strategy.

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week role. The salary range is $94,900 - $117,200 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

You will be a big picture thinker; analytical, but able to keep in-sight the overarching strategies of ABI and is able to look at research for a strategic perspective and effectively implement desired initiatives.

Given the wide variety the role of RSM offers, you will be partnering with a range of stakeholders, so your natural ability to build relationships quickly and hold yourself in different environments will be to your strength. A proactive go-getter, you will seek opportunities to innovate and co-create, brining back new opportunities to the institute.

**You’ll be interested in taking the time to understand the moving parts of the Institute and how others’ roles impact and influence the functionality of the business unit.**

**You will also have good people management skills to help foster an innovative, pro active, service minded team.**

- ** Strategy & Planning - **Lead, develop and implement Faculty/LSRI research services strategies and plans.
- ** Staff Leadership -** Provide leadership and direction for professional staff in research services and encourage a culture characterised by collaboration, agility, simplicity, engagement and empowerment.
- ** Operational Activities - **Navigation and quality of Research Support Services, Research Development and Pre-Award Support for Researchers and Project Management (Post-Award) Support for Researchers.
- ** Relationship Management - **Partner with a variety of stakeholders and flourish in a highly collaborative team environment.
