**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We have an exciting fixed term opportunity for an individual with a strong commitment to researcher success in a university setting.

Te Tumu Herenga is actively engaged in working with our Kaiārahi to strengthen our knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo me ōna tikanga, and te ao Māori. We are looking for people who also value these and who are keen to learn.

The salary range for this role is $66,600 - $71,300 per annum and is dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a full time, 37.5 hours per week, fixed term role for 16 months.

We are looking for people who are passionate about providing support to staff and research students and who can bring creative thinking into our team.

You will have a Postgraduate degree in any discipline, be comfortable working in a blended service environment and be willing to learn new skills. You will be enthusiastic, innovative and enjoy working and collaborating as part of a team to meet our priorities.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important skills**

You will be able to demonstrate some, or all, of the following:

- Ability to learn new technologies and provide end-user support
- Experience in presenting or facilitation
- Experience working in libraries or conducting your own research would be beneficial
- Ability to see things from another person’s perspective and actively seek out and act on feedback to improve knowledge, skills and behaviour.
- Ability to work collaboratively and tailor communication in a way that is meaningful to the audience
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking, ability to generate ideas to solve local problems and recommend improvements to current work practices.
- Ability to make sense of data to inform decision making - implementing ideas to improve local practices

Additional Information
**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**

You will be working with a team of advisers committed to supporting researchers across the university. You will be helping researchers from Creative Arts and Industries to develop and improve the skills they need to be successful at the University of Auckland.

The role is primarily an on-campus in-person role but has the flexibility to work from home one or two days per week.

The Research Services team offers a broad range of services to support researchers and postgraduate students.

Our services include support for finding and managing information, publishing strategies including Open Access, use of the research management tool Symplectic Elements, and advice around the use of metrics and research profiles.

We provide advice via online resources, consultations, and a programme of Research Skills workshops.

Research Services works closely with other teams within Te Tumu Herenga including Learning and Teaching Development, and the Engagement Team. Within the broader University of Auckland community, we work with the Office of Research Strategy and Integrity, the Centre for eResearch, and Faculty/Institute Research Support Teams.
