He angitūtanga | About the role
Sitting within our Organisational Support Directorate, we have recently established a new Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) to provide a more consistent and efficient model when it comes to large scale, complex projects for the organisation.
Overseeing the Portfolio Management and Project Delivery functions, the National Enterprise Portfolio Manager will initially play a key role in establishment of the new EPMO, overseeing the implementation of consistent policies and processes, embedding the new portfolio frameworks into the business and provision of portfolio reporting and insights.

**The position will be focussed on**:

- Develop and implement portfolio management strategies to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and best practice
- Oversee the delivery practices that manage the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise projects, management of risks and implementing corrective actions as required
- Develop the EPMO to be a trusted advisory function to the Senior Leadership team and Financial and Investment Governance Group by providing valuable insights to enable good decision making
- Provide support to delivery managers to effectively gather key information and ensure projects are resourced correctly to ensure successful project outcomes
- Work strategically and collaboratively with Senior leaders to develop long term plans, ensuring best practice, adequate resourcing and prioritisation of work
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment, a culture of continuous improvement and empower diversity of thought
- Ensuring DOC operates as an honourable treaty partner

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to bring their knowledge across portfolio management and delivery to help drive these teams to the next level as we contribute to Conservation efforts. You'll have the support of the Director, Business Services to uplift the business in how we do things.
If you have some of the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

- Technically qualified in Portfolio, Programme and/or Project Management. PMP/ PMI or similar certification is highly desirable
- A seasoned professional, you will have significant experience in a similar EPMO/ project/portfolio management leadership role with a focus on enterprise-level projects. Ideally this would include Business Change, Technology and Construction/Infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of portfolio management principles, methodologies, and tools including extensive experience in benefits management planning and realisation
- A passionate leader and mentor, you have had experience managing a team through significant change, ideally located across multiple locations. You lead by example and empower your team to achieve a common goal
- A strong collaborator, you're able to build trust and influence stakeholders, taking on others opinions whilst remaining on track
- Strategic and pragmatic, you think commercially and don't shy away from complex programmes of work
- Understands the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Māori-Crown relationship

The salary range for this position is $126,896 - $180,611 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
