Our newly formed Portfolio Management team supports MBIE to effectively lead projects, establish standards, lift capability and provide a community of best practice with the focus being on:

- Oversight of approved projects including allocation of resourcing and oversight of stakeholder engagement frameworks, project performance, project and portfolio reporting, pipeline planning, risk and issue management.
- Improvement focus including project management standards and practices, development of project management capability, risk, issue, benefits tracking and dependency management and undertaking post project reviews with a view to continuous improvement.

**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
Working alongside the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Manager, the Portfolio Analyst helps to ensure consistent, predictable delivery by maintaining project control and hygiene, and provides accurate reporting, analysis, and support to enable informed decision making. The role extends to work across all PMO objectives:

- Providing analytical, planning, assurance and reporting support for MBIE’s Delivery portfolio
- Ensuring that our project management standards and methodologies are appropriately executed
- Playing an active role in ensuring good project control and hygiene across MBIE’s project portfolio
- Trend and analysis & reporting across MBIE’s Investment Portfolio
- Supporting the project delivery workflow for portfolio governance and new project setup
- Assisting with support for the Enterprise Project Management System - MS Project Server/Project Online.

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required:

- 2+ years’ experience working in an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), Project/Programme Management Office (PMO) or a structured project delivery environments in the public or private sector.
- Experience with MS Excel skills is desirable (using data connections; piviot tables, combining data with index match, vlookup, hlookup, IF statements, etc)
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies, preferably a minimum of PRINCE 2 foundation
- Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
- Organised and systematic with an attention to detail
- Meets deadlines and can manage their workload without oversight.
- A team player, willing to contribute as necessary to deliver project outcomes of a high standard and to drive the increasing maturity of MBIE’s delivery functions.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
