**Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role**

The National Manager Board and Ministerial Services provides strategic support to the Deputy Chief Executive OCE, Executive Leadership Team, the Board and the Minister. This includes effective governance and decision-making pivotal to governance practices within the organisation, managing the work programme, agendas and papers presented to the Board and Committee meetings whilst servicing the Board and the Executive Leadership Team’s meetings, correspondence and events. The role is a key pillar in Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s governance structure.

**Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role**:
To be successful in this position, you will require excellent relationship management and high levels of insight and judgement of complex information. You will bring a breadth of experience from within the public sector or across relevant emergency management agencies. Diplomacy and political nous will be essential to providing high quality advice across the leadership team whilst displaying a calm and measured professional approach at all times. You will have superb attention to detail and the drive to implement and refine systems and processes that support governance activities.

**To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will possess**:

- Significant experience as a Board Secretary or in a related governance role
- Strong knowledge and understanding of machinery of government
- Solid experience in managing and leading people and staff
- Adept at building collaborative working relationships with a wide range of people and organisations
- Exceptional time management, planning and organisational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- The ability to gain and maintain a national security clearance to top secret level

**The salary range for this role is $173,836 - $193,151 per annum dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.**
