**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We have an exciting position as Business Manager working with Auckland Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry. The role involves a close interface with a number of services including Starship, Child Health, Adult Surgical Services and the Auckland Regional Dental Service.

The Business Manager provides management support for the Service Clinical Director with a portfolio of hospital specialist dental services.

This role will have a strong focus on ensuring resources (including people, finance, and facilities) and systems are in place to enable the safe delivery of high-quality dental services and maintain the mana of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The business manager will:

- Ensure day to day operational delivery and sustainable performance across a regional child and adult health service
- Ensure service continuity and develop plans to align capacity with demand while meeting local and national targets
- Provide leadership and operational support to multi-disciplinary clinical and administration teams
- Ensure the sustainable financial performance of the service
- Lead change and improvement initiatives
- Ensure quality services are delivered and work with clinical staff to identify and overcome barriers to improvement overcome these
- Have the ability to work transparently to identify and mitigate risk within a public service
- Utillise project management methodology to support the development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of service specific priorities.

You will have hands-on experience in developing and implementing strategies and policies that will help achieve our goal of being the best at what we do You’ll possess a well-developed ability to work professionally with a range of internal and external stakeholders and a proven track record of success in operational management. You will have demonstrated the ability to lead performance improvement, innovation and efficiency in a complex stakeholder environment, and will possess a depth of leadership experience with a collaborative style.

You will likely have come from a large or diverse organisation where dealing with complexity is the norm. You’ll be easy to get along with, proactive, service driven, and be able to meet the demands of a fast-paced role in a diverse environment with ease.

Ideally, you will have management experience in a health setting or a strong understanding of this sector. Most importantly, you will have a passion to improve the experience and health outcomes of our community whilst delivering the health targets within available resources.

We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.
