Asset & Resilience Manager (multiple opportunities)
- Full-time
- Engagement type: Permanent - Employee
- Department: Network Performance
**About Us**
If you love working with a diverse group of people who are all about putting the customer at the centre and enabling choice, you’ve found the right company. The energy sector is transforming at a rate of knots, and we want you to join us and be part of this transformation. Vector is a proudly Aotearoa-owned company, which operates a range of innovative businesses delivering energy and communication services to more than one million homes and commercial customers across Australasia and the Pacific. These services include electricity and gas connections, solar solutions, high speed fibre, BBQ gas bottles, air and water purification and much more - all of which are transforming the energy sector in one way or another.
Because we live in a world that is changing fast, we must continue to identify and develop better solutions that will provide value, choice and service for our customers throughout New Zealand and beyond, so the environment and communities we love continue to thrive. To do this, Vector has a vision of creating a new energy future, which will help to deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy solutions for customers.
**About the role**
Auckland is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. As New Zealand’s largest electricity distribution network, we need to grow our network to be both resilient and smart, to support our thriving city. With so many critical growth projects happening, the future architect and engineering of our network is critical to ensure we maintain a safe and reliable continuous supply of power.
Key to this is providing leadership on how to engineer and maintain the network in response to aging asset populations, the increase in distributed energy resources, and the impact of increased frequency of climate change events.
The purpose of this role is to provide lifecycle asset management and engineering leadership across a group of electricity distribution assets.
This role is responsible for asset lifecycle ownership which spans asset strategy and maintenance planning, asset condition assessment, refurbishment and replacement, risk management, and resilience planning.
On offer are three Asset & Resilience Manager positions, each focusing on a specific asset class - Substations; Lines & Cables; and Distribution, LV & DER.
Understanding changing customer expectations and needs is a key strategic requirement for this role. Vector no longer sees itself as an organisation that manages infrastructure assets only - we are a customer-focused business that needs to understand what our customers value.
**Who we are looking for**
- You’ll have a wealth of engineering and leadership experience, with at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- You’ll be adept at building and retaining motivated, high-performing teams, and demonstrate an alignment with Vector’s values and vision for a new energy future
- You’ll have a sound financial understanding and commercial acumen
- Your stakeholder engagement skills will be your strength, enabling you to build and maintain strong workplace relationships both within and beyond the organisation, coupled with accomplished communication and influencing skills.
**What we can offer you**
We love working together to create a new energy future. If you want to be part of an organisation with a real and tangible purpose, Vector could be the place for you.
We offer:
- A fun, flexible and stimulating work environment, full of interesting work being done by smart and innovative people
- Flexibility, including the choice of working from home a couple of days a week, and flexible start and finish times so you can balance work and life
- Health and wellbeing support
- Great benefits that reflect the importance of family
Vector engages a workforce made up of people and teams with diverse skills, values, backgrounds and experiences. We respect and value people who are different from each other, including gender, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, race and religion. We are proud of what we have achieved so far:
- First corporate Living Wage Accredited employer
- First Accessibility Tick employer
- Rainbow Tick accredited
- Winner of three gongs at the 2019 Diversity Awards NZ, including the Supreme Award in 2019 and 2020.
