About the role
MSD's transformation strategy brings with it a newly established opportunity, based in Auckland. The Manager Resilience will direct into the General Manager Technology Shared Services, joining MSD's Improvement, Systems and Technology group.
As the Manager Resilience, the role involves leading efforts to cultivate and sustain resilience in MSD's technology systems. The leadership responsibilities extend to incorporating resilience into technology design and to provide guidance during specific emergency situations.
Key accountabilities and deliverables
- Responsible for designing and providing a cohesive IT recovery plan ensuring the resilience objectives can be met.
- Clearly communicate and partner with external and internal stakeholders, to help foster successful business outcomes.
- Negotiating constructive outcomes in complex environments with competing priorities.
- Makes decisions that have a significant impact on achieving organizational goals.
- Develops and communicates plans to drive forward the strategy and related change planning.
- Ensuring the team is properly planned to deliver to priorities.
- Building sustainable relationships to foster collaborations for planning and design.
- Work alongside multi-disciplined teams to formulate and implement emergency response plans, guaranteeing prompt and efficient action in critical situations.
You will bring with you
- A broad technical background operating at a senior level in a complex IT environment.
- The ability to communicate business outcomes ensuring sufficient understanding of the end-to-end service and the various IT components that are required to provide the service.
- Solid understanding and experience with implementing IT resilience frameworks and strategies.
- Experience managing IT system recovery to meet an organisational response during a significant emergency situation.
- Knowledge of the Civil Defence Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) framework and experience working alongside organisational emergency management teams and senior stakeholders to ensure a coordinated incident response.
- A proven track record of creating a positive organisational culture.
- An open, transparent, and upfront approach, whilst having the ability to balance MSD's requirements and priorities.
- Confidence in high level management negotiations and influencing decision makers.
- Excellent communication and written skills, with the ability to socialise strategies into deliverables.
- Strong problem-solving skills and can think fast on your feet.
