**About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance**

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

**The Opportunity**

We have a fantastic opportunity to provide asset management and engineering support for all stormwater assets and activities within the ASM, across all forms of maintenance and operational activities.

This role will support our stormwater vision, which is to deliver a stormwater system that is safe, available, efficient, resilient, and optimised for customer and stakeholder outcome needs, and the sustainable management of effects for the present and future.

**Background**

The Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency Auckland system is considered the most critical and complex stormwater system in New Zealand. The need to invest more in stormwater assets and management is recognised and there is a need to achieve better base data to fundamentally underpin good asset management. This will support informed and enhanced decision making for asset maintenance, renewal, and investment needs. The need to better understand the cost and benefits of the stormwater programme will help to enhance pavement life and ensure the right intervention triggers for stormwater drainage maintenance and renewals activities.

**What you will be doing**

You will assist our Stormwater Asset Manager with all required works to ensure operation and maintenance activities, and any asset renewals are completed in a timely manner and to a high quality in accordance with the requirements.

This position will expose you to leading asset management and provide an insight into a wide variety of technical fields. You will work closely with experienced staff and will be encouraged to train, learn and utilise self-motivation and intuition to assist in developing project solutions in line with the ASM alliance strategic goals.

You will have a variety of responsibilities including:

- Assisting in asset inspection, audit, investigations, and Level of Service review.
- Developing written reports documenting asset condition and performance.
- Assist with the developing and updating Forward Works Programme.
- Developing processes, plans, procedures relating to Asset Management.
- Improving asset data quality and reporting.
- Developing design works information packages and information.
- Working with, and managing, Professional services and their deliverables.
- Working with the delivery teams to improve outcomes.
- Understand the ASM asset management systems, manuals, and processes.
- Taking responsibility for your own health and safety, and the health and safety of our people.
- Technical advice and support for the relevant stormwater management assets and activities.
- Verification of the quality as built data and drawings.
- Liaising and interfacing with stakeholders such as Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, KiwiRail and Iwi/Mana Whenua.
- Incident response support.

**About You**:

- A tertiary qualification or NZCE or equivalent in engineering, transportation, or construction.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in stormwater asset management or engineering.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of how stormwater assets perform, deteriorate, and fail, and how they can be protected, maintained, and repaired.
- Full Driving licence
- Computer literate and familiar with MS Word and Excel
