Wellington City, New Zealand Airways Full time

Lead a globally performing team shaping the future of aeronautical information
- Join an innovative organisation at the heart of NZ aviation
- 5 weeks AL, developmental opportunities, well-being perks and more

**About Us**:
Airways International Ltd (AIL) is the commercial arm of Airways New Zealand - providing air traffic services training, simulation & selection solutions, aeronautical information management, flight procedures and aviation consultancy services to the global aviation industry. As pioneers and market leaders, we partner with some of the best in the industry to develop and deliver world-leading products and services.

**About the Role**:
A rare opportunity has arisen in our Aeropath business unit, to lead a team in the delivery of aeronautical information publications, charting, geospatial and static aeronautical management services - working with a dedicated group of highly skilled and experienced operators who live and breathe aviation.

The Manager Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) is the cornerstone in ensuring the smooth operation of vital services that underpin aviation across New Zealand and the Pacific. As an experienced information management specialist, you will lead the technical team of AIM specialists as they manage the intricate web of aeronautical information that powers our aviation system.

A core aspect of this key leadership role within Aeropath and Airways International is building on the data integration and visualisation capabilities of the Aeropath data platform and data-centric AIM processes that drive the provision of the Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) in New Zealand and across the South Pacific. This role is critical to support our vision as we continue to develop and implement new commercial products and services built on the provision of geospatial and aeronautical data.

Key areas of focus:

- Managing a technical team of AIM specialists, ensuring effective prioritisation and tasking, including technical oversight, coordination, workflow, and standards for the AIM Team.
- Implementing and maintaining our Part 175 AIP Service exposition requirements, including compliance with Part 100 SMS and maintaining Senior Person status where required.
- Identifying, developing, and maintaining specialised AIM product and service strategies, including data-centric commercial strategies, based on changes in technology, data availability, customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining the latest available technology used in the delivery of the products and services and being aware of new and emerging trends in AIS, AIM, and SWIM market segments.
- Managing the e-commerce function for the provision of aeronautical data and products, ensuring data is available through our data platform and all hard-copy product orders are dispatched on time through our retail team or distribution agent.

**About You**:
Due to the nature of the role and the complexity of our operations, you’ll hold extensive knowledge of aviation and/or specifically the Aeronautical Information domain, with proven success developing and delivering major digital work programs to time, cost, and quality requirements.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification ideally in commerce, geomatics, information management or a related field, or equivalent experience in New Zealand or international senior / management role.
- Prior experience operating as part of a leadership team, engaging with senior stakeholders and leading a team.
- Strong results focus with a track record of achievement in AIM service development opportunities and in dealing professionally with external parties.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team and business environment, collaborate with people, show resilience and agility, take ownership, and focus on delivering successful outcomes.

**To Apply**:
If you’re interested in this leadership position where you’ll be able to effect real change, please submit your updated CV and cover letter via our careers site.

Please note that our recruitment process is managed via our parent company Airways New Zealand.
