Our group in Organisational Effectiveness combines the key enterprise functions to drive efficiencies and support Toitū Te Whenua's ongoing performance.

The Central Procurement Team (Ngā Mātanga Whiwhinga) is a part of the Business and Commercial function within the wider Organisational Effectiveness group which is the business unit designed to be an influential centre that supports the whole of our organisation.

The Central Procurement Team is committed to delivering procurement excellence both internally and externally, to all stakeholders, customers and suppliers.

We are looking for a new Procurement Category Manager to join our team in a role with plenty of opportunity to challenge and develop your skills and experience.

As a Procurement Category Manager, you will design, lead, guide, and contribute to the procurement planning, sourcing and managing of goods and services for Toitū Te Whenua to deliver great outcomes, achieve public value and manage risk.

You will provide advice and guidance to your internal stakeholders and will be seen as a trusted advocate for strategic procurement and commercial standards & practices and their role in driving organisational effectiveness

  • Be able to partner with business units undertaking procurement activities to effectively deliver and enable great outcomes, achieve public value, and manage risk,
  • Ability to identify strategic procurement risks and opportunities and develop and implement a portfolio/category strategy,
  • Experience leading procurement activities of a complex high risk / high value nature,
  • Skills to identify and lead continuous improvement activities that can add value to procurement approaches, processes, resources, and systems,
  • Understand effective supplier relationship and contract management,
  • Support procurement and commercial capability development,
  • Be a team player who embodies Toitū Te Whenua's BEST values

The salary range for this role is $99,246 to $134,274 dependant on experience. This role is based in our Christchurch or Wellington offices.
