**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent customer service and student engagement skills to join our team as a Student Experience Adviser. This is a fixed term (7 months) role. As the Student Experience Adviser, you will be responsible for promoting student development and engagement by providing opportunities and services that supports personal and academic development, encourages leadership and participation with the broader life of the faculty. Applicants will have recent experience in working with students and will demonstrate an understanding of the broad range of factors impacting academic outcomes for these students.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Deliver effective first year support and transition programmes including mentoring programmes and orientation activities
- Facilitate access to development programmes & initiatives e.g., leadership programmes, community service and volunteering and student support funds
- Liaise with Campus life and other providers of engagement, wellbeing and pastoral care services in order to refer appropriate students
- Deliver high quality events that celebrate student success including graduation, awards and prize giving
- Review and provide regular reporting on the uptake and success of events and programmes in the Faculty
- Gather and review feedback from all key stakeholders on the effectiveness of programmes and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills through relationship management, advocacy and negotiation either within the faculty, the University or with outside organisations or key stakeholders

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on a fixed term contract for 7 months. The salary range for this role is $58,300 - $72,700 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

We are searching for someone who is adaptable and confident as this role has a lot of variety but requires attention to detail and the ability to plan and execute effectively.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Experience in developing innovative and engaging programmes and initiatives in a tertiary or similar environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in an environment requiring high levels of customer service delivery.
- Experience and understanding of equity issues in New Zealand
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
