Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced. Commercial Manager to join our Bluebridge Freight division. In this role, you will work closely with the GMC (General Manager Commercial) to develop and implement a growth strategy for our freight services. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with existing customers, implementing effective account management practices, and identifying new acquisition opportunities. Your efforts will directly contribute to the growth of freight volumes and revenue.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Sales Growth and Retention Strategy:
Collaborate with the GMC to develop and evolve the Bluebridge sales strategy.
Assist in implementing a pricing strategy that optimizes market segments.
Ensure an appropriate remuneration structure for the indirect channel segments.
Handle quotes, tenders, and RFPs effectively.
**Account Management**:
Maintain an up-to-date database of freight customers, including key influencers.
Implement an Account Management program for defined freight customers, including call plans, product updates, training, and marketing initiatives.
Cultivate strong relationships with key influencers and engage regularly with them.
Provide insights and monthly reporting on key accounts and revenue results.
Manage the freight customer database and attend client functions.
**Operational Support**:
Build strong relationships with Bluebridge Freight Terminal Managers and staff teams to ensure smooth sales operations.
Collaborate with operational teams to address any issues promptly.
Manage damage claims and related systems.
Assist the GMC with disrupts and schedules, ensuring on-time performance.
Relationship Management and Communication:
Develop and implement regular B2B updates for the freight customer database.
Represent Bluebridge at key tourism and events, as required.
Establish positive working relationships across the company, on ships and onshore.
Foster trust and mutual respect in agency relationships, ensuring appropriate brand representation.
**Analysis, Finance, and Reporting**:
Lead the development of freight customer sales reports to provide insights and inform future strategies.
Ensure sales activities are quantifiable and assessed based on ROI.
Monitor competitor activity and recommend strategies to maintain performance.
**Health & Safety**:
Comply with company Health and Safety policies and guidelines.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
**Skills and Experience**:
Previous successful performance in a similar sales role.
Strong results-driven mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret and utilize data for decision-making.
Professional presentation and reliability.
Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals.
Highly energetic and enthusiastic.
Willingness to travel.
Full driver's license.
