Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $113,262 - $138,174 depending on skills and experience. We also offer superannuation and other benefits.

Job Description

The Role

This Senior Geospatial Analyst plays a key role in managing the enterprise GIS platform, providing technical expertise, undertaking geospatial analysis, data management, and support services to the business and external stakeholders.

The output of this work informs important decisions through the design and build of interactive maps, applications, and dashboards providing valuable insights to decision-makers.

As a technical leader, you will provide guidance and support on all GIS matters and champion the use of geospatial for intelligence-based decision making.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality GIS and cartographic outputs and delivering them to the organisation to support compliance and response functions.

You will work independently and as part of a team, providing technical leadership and knowledge sharing to analysts and the wider group.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects and contribute to the development of the GIS platform.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geoscience, Computer Science, or equivalent experience;
  • At least 5+ years as a GIS analyst with experience in geospatial analysis, mapping, managing geospatial data, and providing expert GIS support;
  • Strong experience with the Esri ArcGIS suite of products, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS field apps;
  • Experience in maintaining and developing geographic information systems, including data management, GIS web services, and spatial databases;
  • Previous experience working with government data and analytical teams is an advantage;
  • Strong team player with a willingness to coach and mentor others.
