The Woods Geospatial Services team is responsible for delivering on the complex geospatial needs of clients from sectors as diverse as transport, water, energy, telecommunications, land development, residential design and heritage. We aspire to be New Zealand’s leading high precision geospatial experts.

**Our unique capabilities**

We utilise some of the most advanced data acquisition technologies, including LiDAR laser scanning (across handheld, mobile, terrestrial and aerial platforms), photogrammetry, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and ground penetrating radar (GPR), to develop high-precision survey-grade 3D geospatial models.

We specialise in extracting and delivering unique insights via our growing machine learning, data analytics and GIS toolsets. We are constantly looking to evolve our capabilities to answer the most demanding problems.

**The role**

We’re in need of a versatile and industrious Geospatial Analyst to support our GIS-centric geospatial projects as well as to provide operational support to our other business units. As such, the work will involve a mix of internal and client-facing work.

This is a 6-month fixed-term employment opportunity, although the aim would be to evolve this into a permanent role.

You’ll ideally have awareness across FOSS4G tools of QGIS, Geoserver, PostGIS, an understanding of the ESRI ecosystem, have worked with FME, know what a web service is, and appreciate structured process and data schemas. Your attitude and other expertise can augment anything missing in this list, and we’ll help fill in the gaps.

**Your skills and experience**
- 1+ years QGIS - map production, form configuration, data relationships
- 2+ years Spatial data management - across a range of data formats
- SQL knowledge
- Python skills are desirable
- 1+ years FME

Other skills and experience across the geospatial and development domain advantageous
- An inquisitive problem-solving mindset.
- Capable working alone or within a team.
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to delivering the best outcomes for our clients.
- A desire to continually learn and develop.
