Salary for this role sits between $86,499 - $117,028 per annum dependant on skills and experience.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This is a well-established role within the Ministry and the purpose of the role is to support the Geospatial Platform, and activities relating to geospatial data. The team are focused on geospatial technology and information across MPI and facilitate Ministry staff to make data enabled decisions. We provide expertise to deliver geospatial tools, data, processes, and share knowledge to help deliver MPI's strategic priorities.

**Key responsibilities will be to**:

- Administration and management tasks for MPI's geospatial platform, geospatial software, and central geospatial data repositories.
- Ensuring Geospatial data and tools are available to authorised users across MPI.
- Publishing data services, facilitating the best use of the MPI's geospatial data holdings.
- Support, and documentation of existing tools and data integrations relating to MPI's geospatial platform, geospatial software, and data repositories.
- Assisting and provide technical support to geospatial platform users, assist the Service Desk in resolving or facilitating the resolution of technical problems.
- Working with MPI staff to set data, metadata, and open data standards for the ministry and support the management and effective use of geospatial data.

Mōu - About you
You will stand out to us if you have more than 3 years' experience with the ESRI suite of tools, specifically ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and ArcPro. You will have used FME and are up for the challenge of transforming data management tasks into automated workflows.
You will need the following skills and experience to be successful:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Geospatial industry
- Experience with ESRI product suite software and platforms
- Working knowledge of FME desktop
- Demonstrated skill and understanding of good data management practice
- Knowledge of developing and implementing processes, systems, and solutions within large and complex organisations
- A tertiary qualification in Geography, GIS, IT, or closely related field
- Experience in developing and managing relationships with stakeholders
- Experience with Python and SQL are advantageous but not required
- Ideally, knowledge of government processes

The role sits within our Corporate Services branch, in Business Technology and Information Services, Data and Information, Geospatial team.
The Data and Information group is responsible for managing the Ministry's core data and Information, supporting, and delivering analytic services, providing advice, leading, and championing the use of Geospatial, unstructured, non-spatial and digital library information.
