RAI leads Maritime NZ's analytics and insights programmes, undertakes geospatial and data analytics, and provides intelligence assessments and products.
We innovate; experiment with new products and data to continuously improve our support to Maritime NZ.Te tunga | The roleOur Senior Geospatial Analyst plays a key role in managing our enterprise GIS platform, providing GIS technical expertise, undertaking geospatial analysis, data management, and support services to our business and to our external stakeholders.
The output of this crucial work informs important decisions through the design and build of interactive maps, applications and dashboards providing valuable insights to decision-makers in the organisation.We are looking for someone to provide technical leadership and support on all GIS matters to Maritime NZ and champion the use of geospatial for intelligence based decision making.
You will be responsible for producing a range of high quality GIS and cartographic outputs and delivering to our wider organisation to support our compliance and response functions.You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a tight knit team, you will enjoy providing technical leadership and knowledge sharing to our analysts and to the wider group.
You will also get to work on some pretty awesome projects and we always welcome new ideasRelevant tertiary qualification in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geoscience, Computer Science or other relevant qualification or equivalent experience;At least 5+ years as a GIS analyst responsible for geospatial analysis, mapping, managing geospatial data, and providing expert GIS support to support decision making;Strong experience with the Esri ArcGIS suite of products including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS field apps;Experience in the maintenance and development of geographic information systems, including but not limited to, data management, GIS web services, and spatial databases;Previous experience working with government data and analytical teams would be an advantage;Strong team player with a willingness to coach and mentor others.Maritime NZ recognises and respects te Tiriti o Waitangi and we are committed to working with Maori to build strong, meaningful and enduring relationships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.We aim to be a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported with a sense of belonging.
