As geospatial information analyst, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team of professionals spread across Aotearoa. Your primary role will involve providing geospatial information solutions and advice internally and externally. You will create, develop, and maintain national geospatial datasets and undertake quality assurance to ensure that geospatial systems, processes, and tools are fit for purpose. You will work with clients to clearly identify business needs, providing cartographic maps, analysis, and advice in line with geospatial best practice. Your work will directly impact conservation initiatives, and your focus on technology will be critical as spatial data underpins every aspect of DOC's work.
This role is based in our national office in Wellington, providing you with access to decision-makers and senior management, and the opportunity to contribute to national conservation initiatives.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone with the following attributes:
**Essential**:

- Five or more years experience as geospatial analyst or similar.
- Experience using the Esri ArcGIS platform in an Enterprise environment, ideally; ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and Pro) and ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS.
- Strong data sharing, security, and data management skills.
- Proven communication, presentation, and engagement skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Strong customer service ethic including expectation management.
- Ability to identify business and user requirements to ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
- Sound problem-solving skills and use of initiative.
- Ability to work effectively within a remote team environment.
- Agility, able to be effective in dynamic situations and in a diverse and evolving organisation.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in Coordinated Incident Management System (e.g., GIS for emergency response).
- Experience with FME, Python or SAP.
- Experience in business analysis and requirements gathering.
- Experience with documentation processes.
- Knowledge of project management processes.
- Experience in earth observation / remote sensing, image analysis.
