**_ Mō te tīma / About our team:_**

The University of Otago runs a rotational, clinically based, interprofessional programme of learning in various locations for senior health professional students.

This programme has been established in Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) for nearly 11 years, in partnership with the Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti (Hauora Tairāwhiti), primary care and iwi providers, and other tertiary education providers.

The key aim of the programme is to bring students together from a wide range of health and social care disciplines, and institutions, to learn with, from and about each other, to find common ground, learn to function as a team and negotiate disagreement safely and respectfully. By learning inter-professionally, students learn to work together to provide high quality, safe, culturally appropriate, team-based, person-centred care.
