**Job Description**:
**The Role**:
Do you have a passion for pricing, customer service and the shipping industry? An eagerness for formulating and implementing strategic and tactical pricing policies? Are you looking to make a positive contribution in a commercial leadership position?

We are looking for an experienced **Commercial Manager** to join our Pacific Forum Line business. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the commercial results of the PFL business, in addition to managing and maintaining relationships with customers and industry stakeholders. This includes pricing and yield management across liner, NVOCC and freight forwarding activities. In addition, the position is responsible for managing capacity, cargo mix and providing oversight of service delivery across all modes.

Reporting to the General Manager, PFL and in conjunction with the sales team, regional offices and agents, you will play a key role in establishing trade budgets, analysing results, maintaining trade data and developing innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.

**Here’s what you’ll do**:

- Develop & implement pricing strategies to optimize yield by selectively targeting cargo and customer mix
- Develop innovative growth strategies and or deeper customer engagement by bundling supply chain service capabilities across sea and airfreight
- Manage yields across each service division by managing both revenue and cost control reporting
- Direct responsibility for PFL Cargo Wise master database management by ensuring tariff and customer data is accurate and rectifying any data mismatch issues that impact the efficient financial and operation reporting
- Support the sales team by managing tender preparation
- Assist the Sales and Regional teams in targeting and securing new business
- Manage, maintain and develop strong relationships with key accounts
- Represent the PFL brand positively in the marketplace and at industry events
- Oversee and manage tariff maintenance and statutory filings of agreements

**Qualifications**:
**Here’s what you’ll bring to the table**:

- 7+ years demonstrable shipping experience
- 5+ years demonstrable trade management experience at a senior level
- 5+ years demonstrable experience in leadership role
- 3+ year experience managing a team essential
- Experience with Cargowise (highly advantageous)
- An unwavering commitment to HSQE, health and wellbeing
- Exceptional negotiation, networking and influencing skills
- International mindset and proven experience working across multiple cultures, particularly within the Pacific Islands

You will be an emotionally intelligent leader with excellent interpersonal skills. You have highly developed business acumen including people, relationship and financial management, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work tactically and strategically to ensure organisational needs are met.

With strong technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint, you have highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including outstanding presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively and all levels of an organisation. There is overseas travel involved in this role.
