**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority, is focused on making our communities safer by overseeing the legitimate possession and use of firearms in New Zealand.

Established to modernise, lead, and operate a refreshed firearms regulatory framework, Te Tari Pūreke is responsible for delivering a more efficient and effective risk-based licensing system, educating, and encouraging the safe possession and use of firearms Aotearoa, and improving public confidence in the firearms licensing system overall.

As the system regulator we are committed to earning the trust and confidence of New Zealanders by working together in partnership with the firearms community, iwi, the wider New Zealand public, other policing groups, as well as other agencies and organisations to achieve collective impact.

Contributing to the delivery of these outcomes, the Senior Brand and Channels Advisor will help us create compelling artefacts that help the firearms community better understand their obligations, support compliance, and build understanding and trust in our role as the regulator. Supporting the Manager of Communications, you will own and lead all aspects of how our brand is presented, ensuring it is used consistently with our guidelines and strategies.

On a day-today basis you will be designing and producing high-quality collateral and outputs that may go in traditional and online channels. You will also provide the organisation advice and insights into how collateral will be compliant with relevant standards (for example, accessibility). Another aspect is supporting the development and implementation of the Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority marketing campaigns, including overseeing and co-ordinating the delivery of campaign elements.

You will be a whizz on major design programmes, which doubled with being a self-starter and problem solver will see you delivering exceptional design support that furthers our vision and mission.

**Takohanga Matua | Key Accountabilities**:

- Becoming the ‘go-to’ person within Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority on all aspects of the brand, including monitoring and ensuring consistency across our organisation with our brand guidelines and strategy.
- Providing day-to-day design support and advice contributing to the creation of high-quality user-centric brand-consistent collateral.
- Providing advice on the creative and design processes, contributing ideas for increasing engagement, usability and providing time estimates and reliable costings of designed collateral.
- Creating visual elements that enhance Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority’s online presence and which contribute to our online strategy (both web and social media presence).
- Providing advice on issues related to access and delivery e.g. e-government guidelines, web standards, digitisation, copyright, accessibility.
- Supporting the development and implementation of the Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority marketing campaigns (externally created content). This may at times include overseeing and co-ordinating the delivery of campaigns and campaign elements.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- A relevant design qualification or considerable equivalent experience preferred (especially within a public sector environment).
- A qualification or experience in marketing would be advantageous.
