Agriculture & Investment Services works to create a thriving and sustainable future for farmers, growers, primary industries, and rural communities.

We work across MPI and with other agencies to support innovative farm land use practices that deliver more value and improved environmental outcomes.

The Investment Programmes Directorate works across the value chain from the farm-gate through to finished products and we have supported a number of initiatives and research programmes in New Zealand using our suite of funding products.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking for a Programme Administrator to join the Investment Programmes Directorate, with the potential to extend.

You'll get to be delivering investment through Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures (SFF Futures), which supports problem-solving and innovation in New Zealand's food and fibre sectors.

You will be working closely with the Climate Change and Community Funds teams to support their work to plan, document and identify risks and opportunities.

Your ability to foster relationships and support key staff within the Investment Programmes Directorate will be an important success criteria for this role.

For this role an understanding of invoice processing or purchase order systems would be desirable as it has a strong finance administration focus.

You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of other interesting topics across the Investment Programmes Directorate.

Mōu - About You

As a Programme Administrator you will bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in providing daytoday support to the teams and funds within Investment Programmes, including processing invoices, mailbox and calendar management, conducting periodic documentation reviews and documenting and identifying improvements to workflow processesA previous basic finance experience is a plus, but not essential.
  • A real eye for detail and a positive attitude
  • Strong skills in providing daytoday support to the teams and funds within Investment Programmes, including processing invoices, mailbox and calendar management, conducting periodic documentation reviews and documenting and identifying improvements to workflow processes
  • Excellent administrative skills including maintaining a calendar of funding activities, setting up and supporting the delivery of workshops as required, and managing and assigning correspondence on the various programmes
  • Tikanga Māori, embedding this in your daytoday work
  • A curiosity to dig deeper and support the identification of opportunities to improve product and information delivery to internal stakeholders
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
You will be working in the Business Support and Reporting team within the Investment Programmes Directorate.

This team provides supporting services to the funding teams within the directorate and is key to ensuring consistent measures, templates and processes are utilised across the directorate as well as supporting funding rounds and other various funding activities.

You will be a crucial part of the team to identify areas of improvement across the Directorate and support the various funding programmes with their funding activities.
