Māori Pathways is a major programme supporting the corrections system to be more effective by using kaupapa Māori and whānau-centred approaches.

This Programme reports through to the Pathways & Services Portfolio, which is one of five portfolios managing and driving change across Corrections.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

Māori Pathways is a major programme supporting the corrections system to be more effective by using kaupapa Māori and whānau-centred approaches.

This Programme reports through to the People Portfolio, which is one of three portfolios managing and driving change across Corrections.

The purpose of the Programme Administrator role is to provide effective administrative support to the programme and wider project teams within Māori Pathways.

The Programme Administrator provides a customer focused service that anticipates and delivers the necessary administration for the successful programme delivery.

The accountabilities are business and project administration and event management.

Some of the role accountabilities include:

  • Provide general administration support to the Māori Pathways Programme and wider project teams to deliver core services
  • Complete onboarding of new staff, including site and health & safety procedures
  • Prepare and coordinate meeting requirements such as venues, agendas, information, and minute taking
  • Arrange travel as required for the team and ensure all expenditure and reimbursement of expenses is in line with the Department's Travel policy/procedures and financial policies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new policies, processes, projects, and initiatives
  • Participates and works as a proactive team member to support the achievements of the team

To succeed as a Programme Administrator, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • General understanding about the importance of why the justice sector needs to change
  • General understanding of the importance and priority of pathways for Māori towards oranga
  • The ability to organise, plan and prioritise work across several phases of work
  • To establish and maintain practical systems to manage own workload and information
  • To plan and prioritise workload to achieve short and longterm tasks
  • The ability to concentrate on the task at hand without losing track of priorities and to meet deadlines
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary range is between $51,006 and $72,008. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
