About us:


The NCSC is an integral part of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB), contributing to the national security of New Zealand.

We provide technical advice and assistance to the Government and other organisations that supports the protection of information from advanced technology-borne threats.

The NCSC also directly supports the Director General of the GCSB to fulfil their System Lead mandate as the Government Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO).


About the role:


We are looking for both a Policy Analyst and Senior Policy Analyst to contribute to NCSC policy and advice, as well as participate in inter-agency projects and liaise with stakeholders on a range of significant issues.

You will work with a team of cyber-security experts to help the NCSC senior leadership team make well-informed decisions.

You will also work across government to coordinate NCSC contributions to the cyber-security system, including inter-agency working groups, development of Cabinet papers and briefings, investment advice, and strategies.


About you:

Ideally you will have:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of the NZ public sector environment, the machinery of government and experience working with Ministers.
  • Experience delivering high quality policy advice.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Interest in digital intelligence, security issues and the role of NCSC/GCSB in those sectors.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years.

Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
