Our Regulatory Policy team is looking for great policy-minds of all levels (Analyst, Senior and Principal) to support their ever-evolving work on high impact issues in the health system, such as:

  • Reviewing health workforce legislation
  • Establishing the Regulatory stewardship tools for the Health sector
  • Surrogacy
  • Assisted Reproduction
  • Drug policy


Across all levels you will contribute to key pieces of work and support the delivery of projects and provide input into drafting of policy documents, legislation, regulations, guidelines, and ad hoc advice.

You are all adding value to the team, to deliver high quality policy to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for New Zealanders.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring

  • Ability to break down and communicate complex issues to a range of audiences
  • Thorough understanding of public policy issues, including Te Tiriti and Equity requirements
  • Experience with core government processes and working with Ministers
  • Comfortable working across a broad range of complex policy issues


As a Senior, you will be able to demonstrate your comfort in sharing your knowledge and mentoring analysts to grow their policy skills.

You are open to learning from others, seeking opportunities through your work to further grow both your written and analytical skillsets, whilst demonstrating core leadership skills when leading pieces of work.


As a Principal Policy Analyst, you will bring your leadership skills to shape and lead work programmes and provide coaching and support to the Policy Analysts and Senior Policy Analysts.

You can demonstrate a strong understanding of how legislative and regulatory instruments can be applied to deliver better economic and social outcomes and improve health outcomes.

You will take ownership and action on challenges, working collaboratively with others.
