To facilitate training and assessment for Support Workers as they undertake NZ Certification in Health and Wellbeing Qualifications at Levels 2,3, and 4

To supervise and participate in Support Worker compliance and standards training, ensuring adherence to sector standards, contracts and Access Policies and Procedures

To contribute to the ongoing design and development of Workforce, Quality Assurance and other content development to support the operational needs of the Access workforce


To provide one-on-one and classroom training for beginner and experienced support workers with a focus on medications, safe moving and handling and complex care requirements.

  • Planning classes and training employees for medical related skills, e.g. stoma care, spinal care.
  • Oneonone assessments and training of support workers in client's homes.
  • Formal assessments and workplace verification for NZQA qualifications
  • Data management for audit purposes to meet required outcomes

Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | Skills and experience

  • Experience in Aged care or Home and Community sector
  • Previous experience in preceptorship desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong general computer literacy Microsoft, etc.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent planning and prioritising skills
  • A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the workplace
  • Actively demonstrates the ability and desire to show cultural sensitivity, awareness and understanding of diversity

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Hold a registered assessor qualification and be an approved Careerforce Assessor or, has the ability to obtain this.
  • Are a Registered Nurse with a current APC.
