About the role
Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging career in education? Do you have a passion for supporting Kaiako and learners in their educational goals?

As the Kairuruku National Programme Manager Education, you will be responsible for the national management of assigned education programme(s).

You will provide on-going, needs-based support of Kaiako and all relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with programme approval and accreditation requirements and establish alignment with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa's values and strategic objectives.

You will uphold and promote our vision, mission and tikanga of the organisation, as well as contribute to the development and improvement of the education programmes.


Some of your key tasks will include:

  • Supporting Kaiako to ensure programme delivery is of high quality, is consistent and is in accordance with academic processes and approval requirements.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies and ensure accuracy of all relevant material within required timeframes.
  • Ensuring that all Kaiako are competent in the Kaupapa of the programme.
  • Provide programme training sessions for Kaiako, Manager Education Delivery and Lead Education Delivery.
  • Develop a national moderation schedule.

About you


We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, a commitment to Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori, and a proven track record of managing and delivering high quality education programmes.


You will also bring with you:

  • A master's degree in a relevant field.
  • A current NZ Teaching Registration and Practising Certificate.
  • 5+ years' experience in the New Zealand Education sector.
  • 5+ years' experience teaching and/or managing education programmes, preferably at a tertiary level.
  • Sound knowledge of the New Zealand education system, policies, and regulations.
  • Rangahau (research) experience.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of initiative, creativity and problemsolving ability.
  • Full NZ drivers license.


As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
