Job Description:


AECOM's market-leading Renewable Energy business in NZ is looking for a highly experienced Director to join our practice and be instrumental in the growth of our team.

This role is suitable for a passionate individual with a recognised track record in leading owner's engineer services and ideally, project management services on behalf of our clients.


Our team works closely with investors and developers to enable them to deliver successful developments from pre-construction through to operations.

We are currently delivering a broad range of projects including solar and wind owner's engineer, project management, design, feasibility assessments, energy advisory, and grid connection studies associated with future generation and storage projects.

With high projected growth in the renewable energy sector, there has never been a more exciting time to be in the energy industry.

As an Associate Director, you will be instrumental in enabling and growing the team. You will collaborate to deliver projects, develop proposals, and deliver on client expectations.

As an active and experienced engineer in the sector, your experience with whole of life cycle project experience on wind and solar farm developments will be key to your success in this role.

This role can be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

Qualifications:

You will have demonstrable qualifications and experience, including:

  • 15+ years' relevant experience
  • Demonstrated consulting experience in the Renewable Energy industry working with asset owners, developers, suppliers, or power utilities
  • Project or engineering experience of power plant developments or industrial plants from feasibility studies, concept or detailed designs, specifications development and tender evaluations through to leading design reviews and construction monitoring.
  • Wind and solar energy project experience highly regarded
  • An excellent understanding of largescale power project development and grid connection process
  • Experience with other power generation technologies, e.g. energy storage, biofuels, or hydrogen advantageous
  • Knowledge of the major generation technologies
  • Strong technical, communication, and time management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Renewable Energy, Electrical or Mechanical is ideal)
  • CPEng or working towards
