Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand DairyNZ Full time

REGIONAL WORKFORCE PARTNER - WAIKATO
The New Zealand dairy industry is renowned the world over.

It's the result of passionate, proud people working towards a common goal - the success of the industry, and with it, the success of our country.

That's the scope of dairy - it's vital, it's diverse and it's huge.... and so are the career opportunities at the heart of the primary sector powerhouse.

REGIONAL WORKFORCE PARTNER - WAIKATO- Fixed term 12-month contracts

We are looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our farming-facing teams, as a Regional Workforce Partner in the Waikato, Canterbury, and Southland regions.

The purpose of the role is to support the _Support Regional Farmer Groups initiative _which is a critical project about partnering with farming communities to tackle employment challenges at a local level, with farmers in the driving seat.

This position will work with farmers in genuine co-design partnership to enable solutions that farmers couldn't do alone.

DairyNZ's purpose is to deliver a better future for dairy farmers.

Whether it is helping farming business owners maximise the potential of their people, farming, and investment resources, or tackling the big issues of climate and environment that impact all businesses, our work empowers dairy farmers with the knowledge and support they need for the challenges they face now and into the future.

Critical in this is supporting farmers to attract and retain a world-class workforce; and in today's tight labour market we know this won't be easy.

Key to the execution of our People on Farm strategy, is the connection and facilitation of regional farmer groups, supporting farming businesses to work together to find local solutions, connect with the people and resources they need, and encourage innovative practices across farming businesses to attract and retain the talent individual farms and the sector needs to thrive.

With people, leadership, and culture as a core focus, these roles will suit those looking to expand their generalist HR career to work directly with business owners in a facilitation, support, and advisory role.

Our business owners are smart, fast paced and looking to make changes that will create positive short, medium, and longer-term business outcomes, so you'll need to be able to match their pace and add value through your innovative approaches and ideas to the complex people on farm problems they, and the sector, face.

Ideally, you'll have an HR or strong leadership/people management background where you've been exposed to the realities of supporting business owners to make change.

With a focus on group facilitation, networking and connecting farmers with the resources they need; you'll already have a reputation as someone who can be relied on, is resourceful, innovative and can engage, organise and motivate business leaders.

Ability to work with empathy and in partnership is essential, and comfort using a co-design approach would be a benefit.

This role is suited to those with the ability to travel throughout the region. However, more important than your location are your skills and experience with workforce and people strategies. Having a dairy farming background and/or exposure to the wider dairy sector is advantageous, yet not essential.

If you want to be a part of the change that will set up NZ's premier export sector for ongoing success.

then this is the role for you
