About the role


We're seeking a Digital Manager to spearhead our online presence with engaging social media content, drive engagement, and leverage digital strategies to connect with the diverse population of New Zealand.

As the Digital Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the National Leader and caucus' digital presence.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team and shape the digital strategy to communicate National's programme in government

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Digital Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive digital strategies aligned with National's goals, ensuring a consistent and impactful online presence.
You must be able to come up with digital strategies and tailored content for the following platforms:
TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X.

  • Content Ideation: In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the development of content. You are expected to understand the nuances of making compelling videos and graphics. Further, you must understand which content belongs on which platform and how to tailor your content creation for different platforms. In order to succeed you must be up to date on digital trends, norms and culture online for each platform.
  • Digital Advertising: Look for opportunities to run compelling digital advertising campaigns on Meta.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a highperforming digital team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. Oversee the daytoday management of social media channels and ensure the team is operating efficiently.
  • Website maintenance: You are responsible for checking the website and ensuring things are up to date. This involves having effective communication with the development team to make sure things are done in a timely manner.

Qualifications/experience

  • 3+ years' experience in social media management, digital advertising, and content creation.
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand's political landscape and the ability to align digital strategies with the National Leader's objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading digital campaigns and achieving measurable results.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

The pay band for the role starts at $120,000 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience.

Employees are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to the Leader of the National Party. This role is based at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington, for 40 hours per week.
