Our Opportunity:
This role is crucial to Mercury's success, as it involves coordinating and providing expert advice on resource consent compliance, environmental management, and stakeholder relationships.
You will play a key role in ensuring our operations align with the core values of the business, by taking care of tomorrow and connecting people and place today.
You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your work will focus on the environmental and interactions around our geothermal, hydro and wind operating assets.This role may have flexibility with location to be based in Hamilton, Rotorua or Tauranga offices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the compliance and monitoring of resource consent conditions relating to existing generation assets and those in development
- Management of consultants providing compliance and monitoring services to mercury to meet time, cost and quality expectations
- Manage environmental risks by providing appropriate environmental advice throughout Mercury operations
- Provide advice and environmental support for activities throughout Mercury operations
We are looking for:
- A tertiary qualification in Resource Management or other relevant field such as ecology, natural sciences, planning or geography
- Experience in RMA and environmental permitting processes
- Familiarity with RMA processes and delivery of resource consent related projects
- Experience in regulatory and environmental compliance
- Experience with Environmental monitoring an advantage, particularly related to Ecology
- Experience in renewable energy sector an advantage
- Full current drivers licence
