About the Role:


Are you a proven sales-hunting superstar looking for the chance to deliver your next big wins in the global retail and foodservice market? Quite simply, this is one of the most exciting and rewarding roles in our company.


Based in our Christchurch (Hornby) office and reporting to the Head of Retail & Foodservice Sales, we have the opportunity for a Global Account Manager - Retail and Foodservice to join our dynamic Sales and Marketing team at Westland Milk Products.

This is an extremely exciting and key strategic role within Westland. With responsibility for managing some of the largest retailers around the world.

The role will require identifying, developing and growing a successful and profitable branded consumer and foodservice business for Westland, which includes our prestigious Westgold brand amongst others.


More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing sales of consumer and foodservice products across allocated global markets, including identifying appropriate opportunities for sustainable and profitable business growth
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and establishing strong relationships with all existing retail and foodservice customers across the designated markets to ensure volume and value are maximised
  • Maintaining a core understanding of all allocated customer's strategies and needs
  • Clear communication to the wider business to ensure alignment and customer demands are met
  • New Business Development
  • Identifying opportunities for new product development
  • Maintaining & developing strategic sales business plans
  • Working with the S&OP team to manage the sales forecast to ensure available volumes are aligned to customers' expectations
  • Management of budgeted/allocated sales spend
  • Using internal and external reporting tools to report to internal and external stakeholders

Our successful applicant will ideally possess:

  • A proven track record of export sales excellence and effective account/customer management and new business development within FMCG sales
  • Experience of both businesstoconsumer (B2C) and businesstobusiness (B2B) sales
  • A strong understanding of the international dairy market, impacting market fundamentals and other key drivers around price performance, supply and demand.
  • A high standard of personal presentation and communication skills
  • Exceptional influencing and relationship management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • The ability to be resourceful and adaptable and to work independently
  • Experience in new product development and taking a new opportunity from concept to commercialisation
