We have some exciting permanent opportunities within the team that sets our organisation up for success.

As Coordinator, People Services you'll play an integral role as part of a team of Assistant HR Advisors who are the first point of contact for all HR customers.

The coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support within the MyHR services team to the Ministry, incorporating transactional HR services and support, with a particular focus on police vetting and recruitment administration.


This role will give you a foundation and pathway to a career in HR, and you'll have an opportunity to see the inner workings of a big HR function.

The most important attributes you'll bring are a willingness to learn, passion and enthusiasm, and customer services background

You will also have:

  • Administrative and customer service experience
  • Strong time management and prioritising skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity and ability to maintain confidential information
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy in a busy deadline driven role
  • An interest in human resources ideally with a related degree or studying within a related field, however we're keen to hear about your passion for anything people related.


You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.

To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
