As a member of ASB's Financial Crime Investigations Transaction Monitoring team, you will help ASB protect not only ASB and it's customers from the impact of Financial Crime, but vulnerable and exploited people worldwide.

You will not only lead but will also contribute in a meaningful way to help protect Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.

About the Role:

As a Senior Manager - Financial Crime Investigations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of one of the two the Transaction Monitoring Teams.

You will also coach and motivate staff to drive performance, providing clear direction to enable the team to deliver unbeatable customer experiences at all times.

You will manage a large team, having your own direct reports and a team leader with their direct reports within your team.

Key to your success in this role will be:

  • In depth Knowledge of Financial Crime disciplines
  • Previous experience in leading, coaching and managing medium to large teams
  • Ability to develop and maintain key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven capability working in and leading a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong risk management capability with proven problemsolving skills
You will be required to undergo Police vetting for various aspects of this role.

You will represent your business unit in internal stakeholder meetings and also update senior stakeholders with emerging financial crime trends or risks, and manage these accordingly.

Someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, feels comfortable questioning things which don't seem quite right, and is able to articulate risk as it relates to financial crime.

You will be committed to delivering unbeatable customer outcomes, be able to build credibility with your team, and nurture a supportive, fun and passionate team culture.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • 5+ years' experience leading medium to large teams, preferably in an operational risk or financial crime environment is essential.
  • Advanced AML knowledge within a New Zealand Financial Services environment is highly advantageous, Training from a recognised institution such as ACAMs is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and decisionmaking skills
Previous experience working with external law enforcement agencies is also advantageous
