**The Position**:
Directly reporting to the Head of Finance & Administration, NZ. The Senior Financial Accountant ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards, controls and reconciles accounts and records, and provides reporting to internal and external stakeholders to assist with business steering and sustainability.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**:
**Financial Accounting & Treasury**:

- Demonstrate ownership of accounting master data
- Prepare and submit local input for monthly & year-end accounting
- Minor audit findings only
- Coordinate with the Shared Service Centre
- Conduct Balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinate interim & year-end external audit
- Oversee ageing accounts receivable, inter-company accounting and billing, and loans
- Support year-end as required
- Administer bank accounts
- Conduct long term liquidity planning
- Manage dividend process
- Acts as key contact for central & regional Treasury

**Travel & Expense**:

- Supervise employee expense processing by accounting officers to ensure compliance with company policies, taxation rules etc.
- Manage and maintain Corporate card liabilities (including terminations, including liaison with Payroll and line Managers)
- Manage corporate card delinquency
- Manages relationship with credit card provider

**Taxation**:

- Work with tax advisors on GST, PAYE, NRWT & Income Tax returns.
- Complete and lodge FBT returns.
- Advise business on tax matters

**Reporting**:

- Provide accounting reports/schedules for internal stakeholders (management reporting) and/or for external stakeholders (compliance reporting) including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting, IRFS16, etc.)
- Support Business Controllers with information and analysis
- Complete statistical reporting for government bodies

**Other**:

- Lead initiatives that enhance business financial literacy and proficiency with relevant processes and tools, and/or participate in Finance and cross-functional projects as required
- Maintain local policies, work instructions and controls

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Business/ Accounting
- Professional qualification (CPA or CA)
- Capable to manage complex tasks and work with ambiguity
- Is a role model to other team members, and actively contributes through coaching and mentoring to the growth of others
- Actively champions the Business Units and Finance team
- Demonstrates high levels of accountability and ownership
- Requires understanding of accounting practices and the effect they have on the operations
- Manages activities across multiple accounting areas (payable, receivable, credit collections)
- Ensures compliance across the business
- Interaction with Global Business Service centres, enabling functions, business units (varying levels of management), Corporate, external accounting & tax advisers, and tax authorities.
- Applies deep and broad understanding of accounting concepts and practice
- Ensures quality planning, reporting and management of accounts activities and leads innovation and/or continuous improvement to advantage the BUs and/or local & global Finance teams
