**About the role**:
This is an exciting in-house opportunity in the Health New Zealand national legal team. You will be based at Middlemore Hospital but be required to work within the wider Health New Zealand legal team across the motu.

In this senior role, you will be responsible for providing timely, accurate and pragmatic advice on a wide range of matters, including:

- all medico-legal matters
- investigations by external regulators, such as the:

- Coroner
- Health and Disability Commissioner
- Privacy Commissioner
- Ombudsman
- advising on information requests
- various other matters that arise within the wider Health New Zealand legal team across the motu

**About you**:

- at least eight years post qualification experience, ideally with some experience in an in-house environment.
- a full range of medico-legal experience
- the ability to provide solution-oriented, timely, clear and high quality legal advice to the organisation
- the ability to work with diverse clients and stakeholders
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- a willingness to contribute to the national team
- a great sense of humour.
