We are looking for a passionate individual to be an integral part of our Property & Facilities tīma.

Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
In this role you will lead the implementation, and ongoing review of Te Puni Kōkiri's Property Strategy.

You will support the Property & Facilities Manager and other team members to ensure that strategies, plans, projects and policies reflect the changing needs of Te Puni Kōkiri and the required capability to deliver on those changing needs.


You will possess technical knowledge and expertise relevant to Property and Facilities Management and to lead capability initiatives within your area of expertise or skillset.

This role also includes leading fitout projects where relevant, implementing maintenance programmes, fleet management and coordinating an effective and cohesive relationship across our regional teams and the wider Te Puni Kōkiri.

You will also play a role as a coach and mentor to the senior members of the Property and Facilities team.

You will have proven experience in a similar role within a complex organisation.


Your usual day will see you working independently but also collaborating with the team and business so you will need to be comfortable operating in both environments.


You will have high attention to detail, superior organization skills, be proactive, and have a positive approach to your work.

You will also be passionate, a fast learner, and someone who can approach our business with the professionalism and resourcefulness that a growing, successful business requires.


Skills and experience
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and proven current experience in Property & Facilities Management or other relevant discipline.
  • Solid understanding of property and facilities best practise.
  • Excellent written communications skills.
  • Proven experience leading various projects, initiatives, contractors and suppliers.
  • Knowledge and expertise of Property, FM, project management principals and asset management including Fleet.
  • The ability to work in collaboration with peers and to influence key stakeholders.
  • A high level of personal integrity and courage, trustworthiness and discretion.
  • Comfort in operating in a tikanga/kaupapa Māori environment, a degree of fluency in Te Reo Māori is desirable.
  • A high level of commitment to detail, quality, thoroughness, and delivery.
  • Knowledge of physical security requirements and systems.
