Principal Advisor, Insights MSD - Permanent Location: National Office, Wellington Opportunity for a Principal Advisor to ensure we have the talent, culture and processes to deliver Data and Analytics projects Make a difference to our clients, partners, and staff Provide strategic leadership across Insights MSD Help teams deliver across portfolios About the Role The Principal Advisor provides a high level of strategic advice and support to the Group General Manager Insights MSD.

The role includes providing strategic leadership in areas including the people capability framework, the quality framework, and support Insights in a number of other critical ways to ensure we have the talent, culture and process to achieve.

This role is also critical to support the delivery of the Data and Analytics portfolio, implementation of the Information, Data & Analytics Strategy, and the scale of work and deliverable across Insights.

About You To be successful in this role, you will be/have: An established record of operating and influencing and providing advice at a senior leadership level, demonstrating good judgement, intellectual flexibility and originality, and the capacity to think strategically Extensive experience in the public sector and/or in a service / community organisation A proven record of managing strategies and projects in a complex and demanding environment Able to prioritise across multiple challenging work streams, while delivering to deadlines A good understanding of change implementation and the issues likely to impact on it Excellent project leadership skills Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent operational experience About the team The role of the Strategy and Insights group is to lead the development and implementation of the Ministry's strategy by creating insights for effective decision making, focusing resources on the right investments, and understanding and evaluating performance.

At Insights MSD we focus on working with people to understand their information needs and the complex problems they are trying to solve.

We use data, analytics, and evidence to deliver actionable insights through multiple channels that support decision-makers across the Ministry to know what the next best step is now and into the future.

We advise on what mix of interventions is likely to work best for whom and where the priorities lie, so that investments across the system are aligned, targeted and designed in a way that will make the biggest difference.

We partner with groups inside and outside the Ministry to deliver joint outcomes.
