Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

We are looking for a Social Procurement Specialist who will help support and enable Kāinga Ora stakeholders and suppliers focused on making social impact through our commercial spend.

You will be the connector and promotor for all things on our broader outcomes agenda including supply opportunities for Māori and Pacifika businesses, workforce skills and development opportunities with suppliers, and sustainability procurement.

This role is part of our dedicated Strategic Social Procurement team, which sits within our wider Procurement and Supplier Directorate.

We need someone who has a good understanding of procurement, is passionate about sustainability, data, and making impact, and can join us in working effectively with stakeholders to deliver great outcomes.

  • Demonstrated commitment to relationship building and working in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, work well with others and influence at all organisation levels
  • Experience in prioritising demands, meeting deadlines and delivering desired results by taking ownership and using effective self and time management approaches
  • The ability to use sound judgement and diplomacy when interacting and responding to different situations
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Great communication skills written and in person
  • Experience navigating and operating in a regulated environment, experience working constructively across functions and track record of building and maintaining the trust of all stakeholders
