Lead a graduate programme aimed at growing upcoming talent:

  • Join a growing team open to new ideas and ways of working:
-
Salary range: $101K-$121K

The Opportunity:

Procurement for the Future is a large system-wide programme that will position government procurement for the future. It aims to elevate the current government procurement system to meet future economic, social and environmental challenges.

Each year government procurement is a vehicle for transforming over $50 billion dollars of public money into valuable outcomes.

With that spend comes a huge opportunity to achieve great outcomes for New Zealand and impact our country in a positive and meaningful way.

Achieving this vision will take a cultural shift for public sector procurement and the procurement workforce will need new knowledge, skills and mindsets as the system moves to focus on values-driven outcomes rather than a compliance-based approach.

Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Procurement Graduate programme, a fast-track programme aiming to grow our upcoming talent and expertise in procurement, commercial and relationship management skills.

While this role will be working at NZ Government Procurement branch at MBIE, you don't need to be a procurement professional.

You will be responsible for the strategy, management and delivery of the end-to-end procurement graduate programme, including planning, recruitment, development and wider performance management throughout the programme.

This role holds keys relationships with wider agencies as well as the other functions that support successful delivery of the programme.

Reporting to the Manager Procurement Workforce and Capability, within New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP), you will be part of a growing team.

You will have the opportunity to mentor and coach other members of the team.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • The ability to be flexible and to quickly adapt to programme needs.

Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or New Zealand permanent residents and be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.
