Champion Freight is looking for a Business Development Manager who can build strong customer relationships, open new doors, and lift trading activity across our freight services.

About the Role - You'll manage a portfolio of existing customers while actively driving new business opportunities. The role covers sales development, pricing coordination, customer retention, and maintaining strong working relationships with key shipping lines. Domestic travel is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Developing plans to increase trading activity across import, export, coastal, and warehousing services.
  • Handling customer issues and enquiries professionally and escalating where required.
  • Coordinating pricing requests and obtaining competitive rates from shipping lines.
  • Maintaining regular communication with customers, internal teams, and partners.
  • Keeping accurate reporting and claiming approved expenses each month.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in sales, account management, or business development (freight/logistics preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers at all levels.
  • Ability to plan, follow through, and deliver results.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to spot opportunities early.
  • A practical operator who can manage their own workflow and stay ahead of customer needs.
