The opportunity:
We're looking for an experienced Administrator/Secretary to join us at Fitzherbert Rowe in a full time role. This is a rare opportunity to work in a beautifully appointed office with modern facilities, dedicated workspaces, and in a close knit team environment.
In this role, you'll provide essential administrative and secretarial support — preparing and editing legal documents, managing client communications, maintaining organised electronic files, and assisting with reception duties to ensure a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and a team-focused mindset are key to success.
Previous experience in an administrative role is required, and familiarity with property law would be an advantage.
You'll work closely with the FitzRowe team when needed, with great opportunities for professional growth and development.
You are someone with:
- At least 3 years' experience in an administration role.
- Legal Secretary experience is an advantage but not essential.
- A genuine interest in helping and supporting a wide range of people (clients, principals, team members)
- A personality that thrives working in a team environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
- Ability to always maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to, and put into practice, new concepts, technology, and different ways of working
- Deadline-driven, with the ability to prioritise when there are tight deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact well with clients, principals, other team members and external parties in a friendly, polite and welcoming manner.
- Exceptional work habits, is reliable, conscientious, well organized, ability to multi task and can prioritise competing demands.
- Able to use initiative and be proactive to find solutions
- A self-starter with good judgement, enthusiasm and drive.
- The legal right to permanently work in New Zealand
You will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to our Property and Commercial team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our Property and Commercial team operates efficiently and effectively. You will prepare and edit legal documents and correspondence, handle client enquiries and communication, manage and maintain accurate and organised electronic files, and take the initiative to ensure that tasks are completed to the highest standard. Your willingness to go the extra mile and make things happen while working apart of the team will be crucial to your success.
