PMO People are a specialist recruitment consultancy specialising in the permanent and contractual placement of corporate Project Management Office roles.  

We are currently seeking a talented Business Analyst to join our client on a 6-month contract basis for a large South Island organisation which is embarking on a regulatory compliance programme to implement new supplier-contracting and governance processes in response to changes in industry regulations. The project covers review of supplier agreements, contractual & operational policy updates, system and process changes, and embedding new controls and supplier-governance frameworks. You will work alongside Change Managers, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to deliver this critical compliance programme by the regulatory deadline.

Key responsibilities:

  • Map "as-is" and define "to-be" processes that meet regulatory requirements and future-proof for upcoming changes.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements for process changes, system enhancements, and reporting/monitoring.
  • Support the development of updated supplier agreements, commercial terms templates, and supplier-governance frameworks.
  • Produce clear documentation including business requirement specifications, functional requirement specs, process flows, and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Change and Project leads to ensure requirements are effectively translated into implementation (process, system, and controls).
  • Monitor and track compliance readiness through checklists, gap-analyses, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
  • Contribute to training materials, stakeholder communications, and post-implementation review or audit readiness.

Key skills & experience:

  • Strong experience (2+ years) as a Business Analyst in a large-scale operational or commercial environment – preferably involving supplier contracts, commercial operations, or governance programmes.
  • Proven ability to map business processes, define "to-be" processes, and support system/process change.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills – able to work across operations, commercial, legal, and finance.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills – ability to produce requirement specifications, process flows, user stories, and workable gap-analyses.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, regulatory-driven project environments, manage ambiguity, and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks or supplier-governance standards is an advantage.
