Senior Business Analyst – Transformation

Fixed Term Contract OR Hourly Rate

6-7 months to end of June 2026

Salary: $100 k – $160 k per annum

Location: Wellington CBD

Full time OR part-time considered

The Opportunity:

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior business analyst to work with a local government client undergoing significant change. This is a varied and hands on role that requires strong business analysis and process mapping skills and will play a significant role in delivering a number of transformational change initiatives within the organisation.

Deliverables:

  • Lead analysis of various service management process changes (e.g. budget structures), to enable more efficient and effective ways of working
  • Partner with operational teams to facilitate appropriate changes to policies and processes
  • Change Management - Assessing and integrating change management approaches to operational policies
  • Support maturity model and roadmap development to define capability growth and allow for effective change
  • Contribute to portfolio handover and transition to BAU at year-end.

Experience required:

We need someone who can see the bigger picture while still being able to get into the detail:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within large-scale change or transformation environments.
  • Strength in process mapping, analysis, and stakeholder engagement with operational teams.
  • Confidence working through ambiguity — someone who can identify problems, frame solutions, and take initiative to facilitate outputs.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas to senior management and more operational teams.

Please note a Fixed term contract is preferred but there might be the opportunity to consider an hourly rate contractor on reduced hours.
